Complete rewire of a 4-bedroom home including DB board upgrade, surge protection and Certificate of Compliance issued on completion.

Challenge: The 30-year-old wiring failed insulation testing and the DB board tripped intermittently, putting the family and appliances at risk.
Solution: We planned a 7-day rewire in phases so the family could stay on site, chased new conduit, installed a labelled Schneider DB and added whole-home surge protection.
Outcome: Every circuit passed insulation and continuity testing, a valid COC was issued the same week, and the client's insurer confirmed cover on the upgraded installation.

Motor Control Centre design, off-site fabrication, on-site install and full commissioning tied into existing PLC.

Challenge: Production could only stop for a 36-hour weekend window and the new MCC had to integrate cleanly with an existing Siemens PLC.
Solution: Panels were pre-fabricated and factory-tested in our workshop, cabling was pre-labelled to an I/O map, and the changeover was rehearsed with the plant engineer.
Outcome: Commissioned and back in production 4 hours ahead of schedule, with zero fault trips in the first 90 days of operation.

High-bay LED upgrade with zonal occupancy control across a live warehouse.

Challenge: Old metal-halide fittings were expensive to run, slow to strike after outages, and left dark aisles that slowed picking teams.
Solution: We modelled the space, specified 150W LED high-bays on a zonal DALI-style controller, and installed at night from a scissor lift so trading was never interrupted.
Outcome: Measured 62% reduction in lighting energy, uniform 300-lux picking aisles, and payback projected inside 22 months.

Challenge: The client wanted full outage cover for lights, fridges, Wi-Fi and one office, without over-sizing the system.
Solution: We audited essential loads, sized a Sunsynk hybrid inverter with Pylontech batteries, rewired essentials onto a dedicated sub-board, and configured time-of-use logic.
Outcome: Household rides through load-shedding invisibly, monthly grid draw down 71%, and system commissioned with a signed hand-over pack.

Challenge: The tenant needed guaranteed cover for servers and access control during municipal outages, with fully automatic transfer.
Solution: We installed the generator on a bunded concrete plinth, ran armoured cable to a new ATS, and load-tested against the real building profile.
Outcome: Transfer time under 8 seconds, tested monthly under an SLA, and zero unplanned downtime across the first year of operation.

Mining site — Northern Cape

On-site MIG welding and installation of custom galvanised cable tray runs and support brackets.

Challenge: Off-the-shelf brackets did not fit the site's steel structure and lead times for custom parts would have delayed the shutdown.
Solution: We measured on site, welded brackets in a mobile rig, dressed and zinc-primed the welds, then installed and populated the trays.
Outcome: Full tray run completed inside the planned shutdown window, coated for corrosion resistance and signed off by the site engineer.

Quarterly preventative maintenance across 6 blocks including thermal scans, DB inspections and reactive callouts.

Challenge: The complex had two electrical fires in eighteen months and the trustees needed a defensible maintenance record for insurers.
Solution: We audited every DB, tagged every circuit, ran a baseline thermal scan and rolled out a quarterly SLA with photo reports.
Outcome: Zero electrical incidents since take-over, insurance premium negotiated down, and trustees have a single point of contact for emergencies.

Replacement of legacy DB with labelled Schneider board, RCDs and surge protection.

Challenge: Original board mixed old and new circuits with no labelling, tripping nuisance-style during rainy weather.
Solution: We mapped every circuit live, planned a Sunday swap-over, installed a new board with paired RCDs and issued a fresh COC.
Outcome: Zero nuisance trips since install, and staff can now safely isolate any circuit from the labelled schedule.

5kW inverter and 5kWh lithium battery for essential lighting, Wi-Fi and study loads.

Challenge: Kids' online school kept dropping during outages and the client wanted a starter system they could grow later.
Solution: We installed a modular inverter with headroom for future PV, wired essential loads to a dedicated sub-board and documented runtime expectations.
Outcome: 5+ hours of essential runtime, silent switchover, and a clear upgrade path when solar is added next year.

Challenge: Ceilings were dropped, cabling had to route above and around HVAC and the client needed clean, warm lighting for client-facing areas.
Solution: We coordinated with the shop-fit contractor, ran power and data in dedicated trunking, and specified 3000K downlights with dimmable drivers.
Outcome: Fit-out signed off on programme, snag list closed within 48 hours and emergency lighting certified before occupancy.

Full electrical redesign for a renovated kitchen — appliances, under-counter lighting and dimmable pendants.

Challenge: The renovation added an induction hob and double oven that the original circuit couldn't feed safely.
Solution: We ran a dedicated feed from the DB, upgraded the RCBO, and layered task, ambient and accent lighting on separate dimmers.
Outcome: New kitchen commissioned on the builder's schedule, all appliances running clean and the client uses the accent scene nightly.

Warehouse three-phase upgrade

Production line power upgrade to accommodate two new CNC machines.

Challenge: Existing single-phase feed couldn't support the new machines and downtime had to be minimised.
Solution: We ran a new three-phase sub-main to a purpose-built sub-DB, terminated machine feeds in advance and cut over during a lunch break.
Outcome: Both machines commissioned within one shift, current draw balanced across phases and no impact on other production.

TIG welding of stainless balustrades damaged by trolley impact, with finish grinding.

Challenge: The balustrade was heavily used and the repair had to be invisible in a public-facing lobby.
Solution: We repaired on site out of hours, TIG-welded the stainless section, then dressed and polished the weld to match the original grain.
Outcome: Weld is invisible to the eye, no downtime for the building, and the building manager has kept us on speed-dial for future work.

Solution: We sized the system to the essentials, wired to a dedicated sub-board and produced a one-page runtime card the family could stick on the DB.
